Moscow Metro + Arbat tour (3-4 h)
We invite you to peek into the Moscow underground life visiting the subway of the capital. The stations of Moscow’s subway system have often been called “the people’s palaces”, for their elegant designs and lavish and profuse use of marble, mosaics, sculptures and chandeliers. Built during Stalin’s rule, these metro stations were supposed to display the best of Soviet architecture and design and show how privileged the lifestyle of the Russian people was.
After that, we invite you to take a walk through one of the most “iconic” places of the capital – Arbat Street, where it is always noisy, fun, bright and festive. But we will not be interested in the performances of artists, but in the history and architecture of the most romantic street in Moscow. You will hear a lot of interesting stories about the apartment buildings that were located here, and their residents. The stones of the Arbatskaya pavement remember L. Tolstoy and S. Yesenin, A. Pushkin and his young wife N. Goncharova, A. Blok and B. Pasternak. No wonder, probably, it was here that the heroes of the famous novel “War and Peace” were “registered”.
