Mount Elbrus

2 Day

Breakfast in the hotel.
Trekking in the valley of the Irik River.
Packed lunch.

We depart for the settlement of Elbrus, which is the starting point of the paths leading to the juniper valley of the Irik River. While trekking in the valley you get the impression of going through a real adventure: the cliffs rise steep as if trying to close their summits above your head and the roar of the turbulent river prevents you from hearing your own voice. We will walk the upper path to reach first the source of the natural mineral water “narzan”, and then — the giant stone. We will move further to meet real wonders of nature — megaliths or Sand castles. The path will veer round them, and then will lead us along the pine forest to Prielbrusye National Park, after — to the picturesque waterfall and to the hanging valley Irik-Chat (2500m) and the Irik-Chat pass (3643 m). From this point you will have a perfect view of Mount Elbrus’s eastern peak.

From this point you can enjoy the classical view over Mount Elbrus with its both peaks visible. You will also enjoy a close view of the glacier Semerka and the beautiful lake of Donguz-Orun, its water constantly changing color from emerald green to brown.

From that point the path goes over the Mestiysky Pass — the gates to Svaneti, a historic province in Georgia.
